Critical Info & Loreto Weather
- https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/ Important to register with the State Department any time you travel to Mexico, or any country outside of CONUS... sort of like filing a "flight plan". Here, you will find health and safety advisories.
- Buoyweather.com/ For weather and Sea of Cortez conditions, you need several resources... We use this one for a check of Sea swell heights and periods, and general wind direction and intensity outside of Isla Carmen.
- iwindsurf.com/ This is our favorite for wind direction and intensity on an hourly basis, plus cloud cover and UV intensity... very useful!
- Tides.info The very best Loreto specific summary of tides (times & heights), sun & moon (rise, set, phase)... all must information for fishing.
- Weather Underground Go straight to Loreto's best weather, general daily details and forecasts, plus great "storm" functions during hurricane season.
Blogs & Forums - Loreto & Baja Info
- http://www.starksilvercreek.com/ This is perhaps the best of all resources. Clint and Loni really take time to dig for good info, and the present it very well. Click the link to this page, scroll down till you see "Archives" on the right side, then settle in with a glass of wine and read everything... it is well worth the investment of time.
- http://www.replayresorts.com/company.html I like the Re:Play corporate website (well designed), but it is still a bit weak on information. Knowing these guys, expect it to grow into a full-fledged critical resource.
- http://loretobay.ning.com/ Full featured forum by Loreto Bay homeowners and others interested in Loreto Bay... Another great place for answers to what is going on at Loreto Bay & Baja Sur in general.
- http://bestguideloreto.com/ Calling this the "Best Guide to Loreto" is a bit of an overstatement. However, they are selling a guidebook that we hear is very good (though we don't own it). In time we expect that these people will provide some first rate information, so here it is for future reference.
- http://forums.bajanomad.com/index.php Forum, some good information, lot’s of bad information regarding Loreto Bay… conspiracy theories and rumors of imminent failure abound… read with a cautious eye… entertaining reading.
